The 2026 Ultimate Kentucky Derby Guide

For 20 years, The Ultimate Kentucky Derby Betting Guide has helped casual fans and seasoned handicappers alike uncover value, spot contenders, and identify longshots worth a second look.

How much time and money do you spend hunting for all the handicapping stuff you need to feel confident on Derby Day? Speed figures here, pedigree reports there, workout data somewhere else — and you're still not sure you have it all.

I got tired of being nickel-and-dimed. That's why I created the IMT BREDS Ultimate Kentucky Derby Betting Guide. It has everything except the past performances and the kitchen sink. (I tried the kitchen sink. It was useless.)

So what's in the guide?

► 3 Speed Figures: DRF Beyer, Brisnet & TimeformUS — all in one place, no extra subscriptions.

► Pedigree & Cluster Profiles: Sire & damsire stakes winners at 1¼ miles and farther, the X factor, and the new Cluster Profiles feature.

► Sire & Damsire Stats: Some horses love Churchill; others are by sires whose babies don't. (Yes, I'm looking at you, Tapit.) Routes and mud — charted clearly.

► Running Style, Trip Notes & Final Furlongs: How a horse behaves in a race matters more than where it finishes.

► Morning Works Summary: Who's training sharp, who's a washout — all the info you'd get in a full work report.

► The Ultimate Chart of Everything: Who checks all the boxes, who's lost their edge — plus my picks, all logic, no emotional favorites. (Ok, a little bias. But I promise not to tear up.)

Same 20 years of handicapping wisdom — now laid out so you can actually find what you need before post time.
